Absolutely -- I feel bad for people who feel that way. Though I love math, I keenly remember early feelings of shame when I couldn't complete a timed-math test fast enough. The problem wasn't me; it wasn't any student at all; it's that asking kids to do math rapidly and to a timer is a completely nuts things, divorced from how we actually use and contemplate math in our lives.
