As many of my designer friends have argued -- in response to this piece -- the word "content" has a specific meaning when talking about design, so you can't avoid it in that domain, and probably shouldn't. So in those contexts I'd still use it!

But anywhere else, yeah, no.

I went into a bookstore this weekend, and did not go in asking if they could sell me some "content" lol; when I comment on one of your posts, I don't think to myself, "I should create some content to post in response to Rodrigo's essay" ...
