Yeah, I thought of putting aero bars on my bike too! I was persuaded not to by my bike-fit guy -- he said, correctly I think, that while aero bars are great on an unencumbered bike, they're a bad idea on a heavily-loaded touring bike (I had about 50-60 pounds of equipment distributed across my front and back wheels), because you risk losing control of the bike ...

But I might try 'em for long unencumbered rides!
