Yep, cycling on roads with cars has inherent dangers! You have to keep your wits about you. The great majority of drivers are in reality quite careful and solicitous of cyclists, in my experience, even on intercity routes ... but it only takes one inattentive or lazy one to cause an accident.

It hasn't dissauded us from doing the big rides, but it's certainly an issue!
