Yep, I know — Medium doesn’t allow the spaced en dashes. It autoconverts them to m dashes!

In my non-Medium writing — in word processors, etc — I tend to type my m-dashes as i) a space, ii) two dashes, and iii) a space. I’m old enough that I first did journalism on DOS systems with plain-text editors in ASCII, so the double-hyphen with space looked best to me. I still like it! But yeah, Medium doesn’t really allow it …
