Yep, Notepad is good -- I use it when I'm working on my desktop machine!

The only thing it doesn't do as easily is remove end-of-line / carriage-return stuff ... Cleantext has a bunch of built-in commands (really just various prewritten regexes) that do that.

I should probably just pick the five or six most common clean-ups I do, write my own regexes for 'em, and put it online as a web form ... for myself and anyone else!
